Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. We ordered dinner from Koreana and the food was delicious. Spicy noodles with chicken were perfectly seasoned and generous. The shrimp fried rice had a great flavor with many pieces of shrimp and lots of vegetables. Thank you for an excellent meal!

Convenience location, a 5 minutes walk from the board street line. The food was so damn good, I recommend the sweet & sour chicken lunch box. For $15 it fills you right up, and they doesn't skimp on the sides, the rice is sticky and perfect. Came around 4 and the people watching is nice. 10/10 will be back

Kimchi House has quickly become my favorite (read: only lol) place to get delivered. I recommend the fried seaweed spring rolls (double order, trust me), ganpoon chicken lunch box, spam musabi, and the crab triangle (has some spice) to anyone that will listen. The food is consistently delicious, packaged perfectly for delivery, and reheats well since I usually have leftovers. I’m so glad I took a chance on this place.

If you’re craving Korean food, you have to check out this place. This is the old Koreana at University City! If you’re a Philly OG, you know it’s a gem. I always order the chicken wings here β€”they're amazing. The hot stone bowls (dolsot) are super tasty, and the squid noodles are a must-try. Plus, Mike and Emma, the friendly owners, make it feel like home. I recently brought some in for my office, and everyone loved it. A cozy gem that never disappoints!

Delicious food, friendly service, quick turnaround time, and very fair prices. The dine-in setup is very casual β€” there is table service but you order/pay at the counter & self-serve water. There is a lot of natural light inside, a good view of the sidewalk to people-watch, and the two folks running the restaurant while I was there (possibly the owners) were phenomenally gracious hosts. There is a cold case of to-go snacks and drinks. The rice balls are a must try! Having tried the chicken galbi lunch box and the squid dolsot, I can enthusiastically recommend both, but the dolsot was truly the star of the show in my opinion. The combination of buttery squid, jammy egg, umami & spicy sauce, veggie mix, and that crispy caramelized rice at the bottom is just absolutely magical. This is an absolute gem of a restaurant.
